Reading Exercise: A Mysterious Adventure
Read the Conversation and answer the true or false question:
Conversation:
Emma: Hey Jack, did you hear about the old house on Maple Street? People say it’s haunted!
Jack: Really? I thought it was just abandoned. What happened there?
Emma: Well, last night, I was walking past it with my dog, and I saw a light flickering inside. But when I looked again, it was gone.
Jack: That’s creepy! Did you go inside to check?
Emma: No way! I was too scared. But I did see some strange footprints leading to the back door.
Jack: Maybe someone is living there secretly. Or it could be a ghost!
Emma: I’m not sure, but the house gives me the chills. My grandmother told me that a family used to live there, but they moved out suddenly and left everything behind.
