🧄 Ingredients

  • ¾ cup cooked rice (cooled)
  • ¼ cup roasted peanuts
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut (optional)
  • 1½ tbsp sesame oil
  • Salt to taste

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Dry roast peanuts and set aside. Optionally remove skins.
  2. In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, and red chilies.
  3. Add hing, sesame seeds, and coconut (if using). Sauté briefly.
  4. Add peanuts and sauté for a minute.
  5. Mix in cooked rice and salt. Toss well till evenly coated.
  6. Serve hot or pack for lunch with appalam or curd.
