🧄 Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice (soaked)
- 200g button mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 green chili (slit)
- ½ cup chopped coriander & mint
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp thick yogurt (optional)
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp garam masala or biryani masala
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- Whole spices (bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon)
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- Salt to taste
- 1¾ cup water
🍽️ Instructions
- Heat oil, fry whole spices. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden.
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chili. Sauté for 1 minute.
- Add mushrooms and cook until they shrink and release moisture.
- Add chili powder, turmeric, biryani masala, salt. Mix well.
- Add yogurt (if using), chopped herbs, soaked rice, and water. Stir gently.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 15–20 mins. Let it rest before serving.
