🧄 Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice (cooled)
  • 10–12 garlic cloves (peeled & sliced)
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil or any cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: pinch of hing (asafoetida)

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add urad dal, chana dal, and red chilies.
  2. Add sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant.
  3. Add curry leaves, turmeric, and a pinch of hing. Sauté briefly.
  4. Add cooled rice and salt. Mix thoroughly so garlic oil coats the rice evenly.
  5. Serve hot as a quick lunch or evening meal.
