🧄 Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice (soft mashed)
  • ½ cup thick curd (yogurt)
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional)
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 to 2 green chilies (chopped)
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 dry red chili
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil or ghee
  • Optional: pomegranate seeds or grapes for garnish

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Mash the cooked rice while warm. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Mix in curd, milk (if using), and salt to make a creamy base.
  3. Heat oil or ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add urad dal, red chili, ginger, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until dal is golden.
  5. Pour the tempering over the curd rice and mix well.
  6. Garnish with coriander or fruits like pomegranate if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
