🧄 Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked rice (soft mashed)
- ½ cup thick curd (yogurt)
- 2 tbsp milk (optional)
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 to 2 green chilies (chopped)
- Few curry leaves
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 dry red chili
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil or ghee
- Optional: pomegranate seeds or grapes for garnish
🍽️ Instructions
- Mash the cooked rice while warm. Let it cool slightly.
- Mix in curd, milk (if using), and salt to make a creamy base.
- Heat oil or ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
- Add urad dal, red chili, ginger, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until dal is golden.
- Pour the tempering over the curd rice and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander or fruits like pomegranate if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
