  • Water

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Rinse: Wash 1 cup of Thinai in clean water 2–3 times.
  2. Soak (optional): Soak for 15–30 minutes to reduce cooking time.
  3. Boil water: Bring ~2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
  4. Add millet & salt: Drain soaked Thinai, add to boiling water, and optionally add a pinch of salt.
  5. Simmer: Cover and cook on low heat for 15–18 minutes until water is absorbed.
  6. Rest: Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff & serve: Gently fluff with a fork and serve as you would rice.
