  • Varagu (Kodo Millet) – 1 cup
  • Water – 2.5 to 3 cups (for pressure cooking) or 5 cups (for open-pot boiling)
  • Optional: A pinch of salt

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Rinse well Wash millet 2–3 times in clean water to remove any dust or bitterness.
  2. Soak for 15–30 minutes – this helps in faster and softer cooking.
  3. Drain soaked water and add 2.5 to 3 cups of fresh water.
  4. Boil water - Bring 2.5 to 3 cups of water to a boil in a pot or cooker.
  5. Cook on low flame - Cover and cook on low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. (In pressure cooker: 2 whistles on medium flame.)
  6. After cooking, let it rest covered for 5 minutes to absorb any remaining water..
