🧄 Ingredients
- ½ cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
- ½ cup rice (short grain or sona masoori)
- 1 small carrot (cubed)
- 1 small capsicum
- ½ cup green beans (chopped)
- ¼ cup green peas
- 1 medium onion (optional)
- 2–3 tbsp Bisi Bele Bath powder
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- Salt to taste
- 2½ to 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chili for tempering
🍽️ Instructions
- Wash and soak toor dal and rice separately for 20 mins. Cook dal until soft.
- In a pot or cooker, boil vegetables until just tender.
- Add cooked dal, rice, bisi bele bath powder, tamarind paste, and water. Mix well and simmer for 10–15 mins.
- Prepare tempering with ghee, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chili. Pour over the bath.
- Stir gently and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with papad or boondi.
