Ball Shah lived in Gujarat. He was a great miser. He hated to spend anything on anybody even on himself. One day he saw some ripe dates on the tall palm tree. He liked dates very much and wanted to have some. But how could he get them? He did not like to ask anyone to climb up and get them for him, for he feared he might to pay him something. So, Ball Shah decided to climb the tree himself. He had never climbed up a date palm before, but he managed to reach the top. He was about to pick some dates when he happened to look down. The height from the ground frightened him so much that he started to tremble.

STORY
False Admirations

Once upon a time, there was a crow who was very hungry and wanted to have food. He found a piece of
cheese from somewhere and picked it up. He flied to a tree and sat there to eat the piece properly. A fox was
roaming around and was too very hungry. She was very clever. She saw the crow eating cheese piece and
she wanted to eat that. She thought of an idea and started to play with the crow. She started praising the crow
by saying that he has a voice of heaven and his voice is so soothing and relaxing and great. She started
flattering the crow.
She asked the crow to once sing a song for her. The crow was very pleased. He opened his mouth to sing and
suddenly the piece of cheese fell from his mouth to the ground. It was the fox’s trick to take food from the
crow. The fox picked up the piece if cheese and she ran away.
