🧄 Ingredients

  • ¾ cup cooked rice (cooled)
  • 1 cup curry leaves (washed)
  • 4–5 dry red chilies
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • Few curry leaves (for tempering)

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Dry roast curry leaves, red chilies, cumin, pepper, urad and chana dal till aromatic. Let it cool.
  2. Grind with grated coconut to a coarse powder without water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, hing, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  4. Add ground curry leaf masala and sauté on low flame for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Add cooked rice and salt. Mix well until evenly coated and heated.
  6. Serve hot or pack for lunch with chips or curd.
