🧄 Ingredients

  • ½ cup raw rice
  • ¼ cup moong dal (yellow split)
  • 1 tsp black pepper (whole or crushed)
  • 1 inch ginger (chopped)
  • 8–10 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 10 cashews
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2.5–3 cups water

🍽️ Instructions

  1. Rinse rice and moong dal together. Pressure cook with water and salt for 5–6 whistles until soft.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan. Fry cumin, pepper, ginger, curry leaves, and cashews until aromatic and golden.
  3. Add the tempered mixture to the cooked rice-dal. Mix well until mushy and creamy.
  4. Adjust salt and consistency. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
